Rebslagervej Kollegium

Rebslagervej is a newly renovated building and opened its doors for the first time in August 2016. The area is still under development.

The residence is located in outer Nørrebro in walking distance from Nørrrebrogade - a vibrant and authentic multicultural street where you will find a wide range of shops, bars and cafes. A stone’s throw from the building you will find the shopping center ‘Nørrebro Bycenter.'

All of the faculties of UCPH can be easily reached by public transportation or bike from Rebslagervej, which is located 7 minutes’ walk from Bispebjerg station and only 5 minutes’ walk from Nørrebro station (not to be confused with Nørreport station).

Deciding whether Rebslagervej is right for you

Rebslagervej is a good option for the student who enjoys their privacy while at the same time having access to common facilities. Common facilities mean common responsibilities, and you are required to participate in whatever cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Since Rebslagervej is one of our newer buildings, we expect that you treat the place as you would treat your own home: with care and respect. Each apartment has wooden floors that need to be treated with care, this includes avoiding that they get wet (e.g. with water coming from the bathroom) and not walking on them with high and/or sharp heels. Neglect or mistreatment of the apartments can have consequences for the return of your deposit.

Type of Accommodation

Rebslagervej is a modern residence located in a former factory building that has been completely renovated. Each apartment has a minimum of 2 windows and the hallways and common areas have large windows that help to create a bright and inviting environment throughout the building. There is a big common room on each floor with benches and tables. There is a common space outdoors, located at the back of the building.

The building consists of 4 floors and contains a total number of 76 studio apartments of various sizes, all of which are newly renovated.  The UCPH Housing Foundation has reserved most of the apartments for students and some for PhD students at UCPH.

Some of the studio apartments are rented out as shared apartments (2 people in 1 studio). You would always share a studio with a person of the same gender as yourself.

Rooms/Size

The studio apartments for 1 person are between 19 - 30 square meters in size depending on room type.

The studio apartments for 2 persons are between 30 - 37 square meters.

Bathroom

Each apartment has a private bathroom. The tiles in the bathroom must be treated with care. Make sure not to use any damaging cleaning products such as hydrochloric acid.

Kitchen

Each apartment has a private kitchenette. Basic kitchen utensils such as pots, pans, cutlery, cups, glasses and plates are provided. If any basic utensils are missing, please stop by the UCPH Housing Foundation. We have a small stock of different items and you are welcome to see if we have what you are missing.

Laundry

Laundry facilities are available in the basement of the building. Laundry is not included in the rent but must be paid separately. You do not need to reserve a time. You can simply show up and pay on the spot using your credit card. Cash is not accepted.

If your credit card is not compatible with the machine, you will need to make use of a laundromat nearby.

Internet Connection and TV

Internet will be available throughout the building. The UCPH Housing Foundation does not provide you with a TV. By Danish law, everyone who has an internet connection must pay media license. This expense is not included in your rent.

For internet support please contact the Housing Foundation by email at contact@housingfoundation.ku.dk and we will direct your query to the appropriate person.

Transportation

Rebslagervej is located in outer Nørrebro in the north of Copenhagen and all of the UCPH faculties can be very easily reached. Nørre Campus is a 10 minute bike ride away. The City Campus can be reached within 20 minutes by bike or bus (5A from Nørrebrogade). To go to Frederiksberg Campus you can bike in 10 minutes. Søndre Campus can be reached by bike in 25-30 minutes or you can take the s-train to Nørreport station and from there the metro to Islands Brygge.

Please use www.rejseplanen.dk to see travelling times with public transportation and to plan your trip.

Parking

The UCPH Housing Foundation does not provide parking spaces in any of our residences. Parking is available in the surrounding streets, but finding a parking spot can be very difficult. Here you can read about parking zones and fees. The UCPH Housing Foundation does not recommend you bring a car.

Smoking policy in the Residence

Smoking is strictly prohibited everywhere in Rebslagervej apartments.

Rent

The price range including utilities (on-account) is approximately DKK 5000 to 12.000 per month (though not paid monthly).

If you use more than the on-account utilities allocated in your rent, you will receive a bill. If you use less, you will receive a refund.

You can see the precise rental amount in the online system.

Applying for housing subsidy

Since the rooms in Rebslagervej have private kitchenettes, it is possible to apply for housing subsidy if you live in this residence and if you're renting the entire studio for yourself (so not possible if you live in a shared studio).
