Before you arrive

Please make sure that you have made all required payments and that your contracts are uploaded and approved by us before you pick up your keys. We will not be able to provide you with your keys if these matters are not handled first. Furthermore, when planning your arrival/key pick up please take our office hours into consideration.

How will I get hold of my keys?

Your keys can only be collected on your first rental day or later, but not before then. Most keys must be picked up at UCPH Housing Foundation office at Njalsgade during our opening hours, (remember that we are always closed between 12 noon - 1pm). Please bring ID (passport or identification card with picture) in order to collect the keys.

If you have a contract at the following residences please pick up your keys directly at the residence:

Regarding your access

If the first rental day is on a bank holiday or weekend, it may not always be possible to gain access to the residence until the first weekday of your contract. Once we have handed out the keys to you or your contact person, you will receive an email confirmation.

You cannot move into your residence before 12 noon on the first day of your rental contract, regardless of whether you have picked up your keys before 12 noon.

If you cannot pick-up your keys yourself

Arriving tenants who are not able to pick up the keys themselves may arrange with the UCPH Housing Foundation to allow for another person (e.g.  university mentor, a private contact or a future colleague) to pick up the keys on tenant’s behalf. Please email us with whom you make this arrangement (full name) and copy your contact so he/she can show us the email documentation when picking up the keys. Your contact person will have to bring ID (passport or identification card with picture) in order to collect the keys.

You are of course welcome to pick up your keys later than your contract start date.

The mentor program

Your study program may have a First Contact/ Mentor program, which helps incoming international students to settle in Copenhagen. The mentor may be able to assist you from your arrival with settling in and helping out with practical issues also the picking up of keys as described above.

Students on exchange should e-mail to enquire about their mentor options.

Students taking a full degree should contact their department to learn more about if a mentor program is affiliated.
